I have really thin nails. So the idea of a person taking an electric file to them is not an option. I tried it once, and let’s just say one time was enough. I felt like every finger nail had a second degree burn to it at best. I’ve tried the acyclic nails, which was downright painful. I tried gel. The idea of gel nails is that they are supposed to make the nails stronger. But for those of us not blessed in the strong nail department this rule also fell flat. After this I tried dip. Also with a concept of making the nails stronger. Every time the lady at my nail salon would remove the hardened powder of dip, my nails would get thinner and thinner. Regular nail polish didn’t seem like a great option. It chips quickly so I figured, what’s the use.

One day a friend sent me a packet of nail wraps, or if you will stickers. As I fitted each size to my nail bed after shaping my nails to the roundness of my liking. These little wraps gave me a sprinkle of hope! Pinching off the excess of the sticky wrap at the top of each nail, I snip the excess one by one. I file horizontally, and it’s on for a good two weeks or just about fourteen days. Removal is easy. I use regular nail polish remover, or peel them off. Yea, yea, I know peeling is bad. We all have our things though.

If you are wondering…. But how do they LOOK? I was at the nail salon getting a pedicure, and my nail lady asked who did my fingers. She thought they were gel. I told her I did them myself, and she asked if they were gel. When I said they were wraps, she was genuinely impressed. So there you have it!
